Shot At, Court Marshalled and Confused

I have been shot at, court marshalled twice and confused,
married, divorced and married again. I have won medals and lost chances that will never return, I've been bankrupt, owned my own home and cried tears of joy. I have 4 amazing children and have watched both my parents die. I have discovered brothers and sisters, was almost raped, have found God, given up dope and I am an optimist.

Hi, I'm Ian and I play bass player in an indie rock band called SUNSOMA, which despite an appearance on MTV Hits and a single on itunes is not the thing that makes me money in my life, this will change of course but not for a while.
I am married to a very beautiful singer and song writer who is also a talented artist, and we live in a friends loft in leafy Surrey.

So is that list the full sum of my efforts so far in my life I hear you ask? Mmmmm well no, this is just a snap shot of my colourful existence on a planet that has so much I want to see and do. Maybe that means that I have only just begun, I hope so, I mean now I have started to understand who I am and what I am quite good at I'm finally looking forward to next few years- after all who knows what will happen next.

I've wanted to start to write about my life for a long time but I have not really had the confidence to bring pen to paper. I am generation X you see, I read very little and write even less, but last year I was introduced to an older sister that I never knew existed and I realised that I didn't know as much about my family as I thought - quite a revelation to someone who grew up in an honest and open family of 6 boys on a farm in rural Sussex.

So here we are, starting something that will help me to find more about why I am like I am and hoping you will like being part of the journey. See you again soon, take care Ian.
